Id like some feed back on the pros and cons of using Eaton or Saginaw power steering pumps on Yblocks. Application is Toyota power steering conversion in a 56 Ford F-100. I'm thinking I should get my power steering bracket ordered from John Mummert, but not sure which way I am going to go.

I'm running a Saginaw with a Cavalier rack, and I had to fit a pressure reducing valve. I'd start out by looking at the pressure/volume requirement from the Toyota manual, and then pick the pump that came closest. I don't think the "box" units tend to get a twitchy as a rack, but I don't really know with the Toyota box.

I bought the steering pump (Summit Racing TFF-6176A), bracket (Summit Racing BRG-802409), and pulley (Summit Racing TFF-8488C) from Summit Racing when I did the Toyota steering box on my '56 F100.  I used a combintation of Ford bracket from the old power assist system with the new bracket to mount the pump.  What I came up with is simlar to the bracket that John sells.  If you don't have the Ford bracket on your engine then I would recommend getting one from John.

Thanks Bob. I got mine there as well. Next one will include the new steering box they sell with the compete package. I have been leaning towards the Saginaw.
