Several years ago, a fellow named Ron posted a question re Power Antenna installation on the front fender of a Fairlane
I'm wondering the same thing and wondered if anyone has done this? (Added a Power Antenna)
Any info or experience?

Your kidding , right ! Drill the hole, run the wire, install the switch, connect to power..

For the front, I am not sure that it's as easy as Ron says.  You need to look under the fender where the antenna would go to see if you have room/clearance for it.  It's been a awhile, but I had a car radio shop look at my 54 Ford and they said I didn't have the clearance for one.  The reason I had them look at it was because I didn't think it could be done when I looked at it and wanted  a professional opinion..

Just in general, having had many power antennas. Some don't like being exposed to the elements, and under the front fender really is. Most need some lower support, as they are too heavy with the power unit to just hang off the mounting. I've had good luck with them mounted in the rear, using the trunk. Not so much in front. Building a shield and a lower brace can be a problem. If you're frenching it, grinding and re painting, no problem. That's why my 'bird doesn't have one, and other cars do.
