The carburetor on my 56 Ford F100 Fordomatic truck melted in a garage fire.  Fortunately, the truck was not there!  I need a good carburetor or a good rebuildable core.  Located in San Bernardino, CA

You might try ebay - carbs show up quite regularly and you may be lucky and find one.

If you belong to Ford Barn, try an ad there in the wanted section.

I will assume that you have a V8 and need a 2 barrel carb. I have one that I bought as a spare for my 55 wagon years ago. This one has an automatic choke and my old wagon had a manual choke. It is a Ford rebuilt carb that has been sitting on a shelf for 20 years?  Let me know if this is what you are looking for. $90 plus shipping  - Bobhttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/f0788087-aeb3-4992-aaf9-03d2.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/d49d5839-2c32-464a-83e8-d619.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/9ddfa63f-2850-4aeb-a21d-80da.jpg

Thanks Bob, yes, it is a V8 with an automatic transmission.  I need one with the manual choke, but thank you for responding.  Nice find for someone that needs the auto choke.

I've got what you need, core or otherwise. If you are interested I can send pictures to you through an email address or even post here if you prefer. If you need a truck carburetor though, isn't your air horn different from what Bobwanna has above? Pretty sure the truck air cleaner fits over a smooth, tapered lip and not a straight wall like the passenger car.

By the way - that is a good price from Bob on that carburetor.

I did not know that the air horn was different between cars and trucks. Not sure why Ford did that. Still learning - Bob
