The Merc trans have a longer tail shaft so there will have to be some modifications to the trans mount but should not be that hard.

There is no difference in the motor mount location no matter if it's a 312, 292, or 272.. As far as the transmission they should be the same as well unless it's from Thunderbirds from 1957 I believe.

I have a sweet running 312 from a merc, and my 55 Victoria has no drivetrain.
The Ford's mounts are not in the same places as the Mercs and i'm guessing the 56 Merc-O-Matic is longer than the orig Ford-O-Matic

Is there a mounting kit to accommodate this? Or do I just use diff mounts or shorten the driveshaft or give up and get a 55 Ford drivetrain?
Thanks in advance
