Dennis: There are other Australian members on this site. Possibly one of them could help you come up with a matching head, either one. If for instance you found another COAE head, another less expensive route might be to contact J. Mummert Machine in Calif. (see the links from here) He has oversize 1.84" intake valves that fit those heads. That & as mentioned U could also plane them to up the compression & it would work out nicely..

To follow up on Paul's comments here is an interesting article with pictures of what Tim McMaster suggests doing to the C1TE or COAE cylinder heads to improve their performance on the street...

Food for thought.    Smile

Noshortcuts,

I'd be willing to have a head shipped over, I have already figured out that this engine is going to cost a lot of money to rebuild the right way and I have accepted that, the y block bug has got me and I now have a love for them! So I guess I'm on my way to being a true Y BLOCKER! Haha. So if you have one I'll be keen to see what you want for it!

Maybe send me a message.

Thanks Dan.

Dan.  I missed your posting on the last page.  Let's determine whether the ECZ-G head that you posted the picture of is posted or un-posted.  If it's un-posted I can match it and it'll be yours for the shipping expense.  IF it's an un-posted big letter 'G' series, I'm sure I've got a driver's side head that has not been previously milled and has no pitting on the deck surface or in the combustion chambers.  Valves will be original Ford and margins will suggest that they haven't been ground before.  Probably easiest to ship the head assembled with springs, retainers, and keepers.

See what you've got, Dan.

Our Forum email and personal message system seems to work for some members and not for others.  Some emails I've sent were never received, others have gone through with no problem.  Email me direct at cncbrown2@gmail.com to work through how to best ship to you.   Smile
