I might have the opportunity to buy a good running I'm guessing 292 out of a 64 F100 that is still in the truck at the moment. I was thinking of it for a spare, just in case the need arises.
The owner has a Cleveland and C6 he wants to put in so his wife can drive it. He doesn't know much about it but was told the bottom end was redone by the previous owner. Who knows what that means!!
It looks tidy with rams horns and some stainless fasteners. Only 2v manifold.
I would be going backwards from the 312 to put in my car, it would have to be stroked if I ever needed it.
I believe the block castings got better in the later motors but I'm guessing the heads aren't anything special.
If he offers it to me I will be able to test drive it and check it out.
Is it worth having as a spare if the price is right?
Any thoughts on the parts?
