Gzerm23.  I think that you've gotten good input from both Charlie and Kahuna.  So much depends upon condition, what you can tell without actually taking something apart, or GooD documentation.  What you have has gotten O-L-D, the desire-ability of what you're looking to part with is not that great, the availability of what you've got is fairly high and easy to locate.

Hope we've helped!   Crazy

I find 272 blocks desirable. Most 292 have already been bored one or two times. I built my 292 from a 272 block..

Possibly location has something to do with price.
Here in Northern Cal, I've been offered 3 of those engines for free.
272's aren't desirable at all

Here's an idea what I would pay.

Engine:
If it is seized, scrap value, probably not more than $100.
If it turns over by hand or with a starter but I do not hear it running, perhaps a couple hundred.
If I can see it run, possibly over $500.
If it runs, has been rebuilt recently and there is documentation to prove it, probably over $1000.

Transmission:
If one or more gears do not turn easily or there is other damage that may make repair difficult , scrap value, probably not more than $50.
If it is in generally good, rebuildable condition, perhaps a couple hundred.
If it has been rebuilt recently and there is documentation to prove it, possibly $500 or more..

So I'm trying to sell the Engine and Transmission for a 1957 Ford F100 But I have no clue how much to ask for. I was hoping some one could tell me how much I could possibly get off of it. I know  that the engine is a Y Block V8  engine 272 and from a previous conversation, I am under the assumption that the transmission is a 4 speed based off of its size. I don't have any pictures since I haven't actually pulled it yet so hopefully, I cam do that this weekends.

If anyone could help me out, I would really appreciate it.
