Both the gerotor and spur gear oil pumps have the same flow ratings.  See if this older thread helps to answer your question to which is more desirable.  As Chuck mentions, I'm always in favor of the gerotor pumps over the spur gear pumps.

The Gear Rotor is better than the cast iron. I know Ted recommends them. That is my choice of pump when I can find one.

I ask because I have now almost new in engine and one used gerotor in basement.
Maybe I should change before big bang?

Redline is 6500 rpm.

The aluminum pump is a more "modern" gerotor pump and is the same basic design that newer small and big blocks use.  It uses less power to drive and is more reliable at high rpm - higher then most street vehicles will see.  In most cases, either the gerotor or spur gear will be just fine.
