Does anyone have any illustration or tutorial on how to clean the filter on a fordomatic?

Johnny, how qts did you pour in before initial startup? Did you then add while running? Thanks.

My 56 Merc drained through filler tube connection on pan, there are 2 plugs in the torque convertor 180 degrees apart remove both so it will drain. I removed the pan and cleaned the filter when I put Type F in.

Questions? Does the 56 fordomatic have a drain plug on the torque converter? If you can drain it and the trans pan, how many quarts of typeA should you pour in for initial start up and after starting should you immediately start adding fluid. All my modern transmissions I did only the pan but I want do this one complete if I can thanks.
