Power brakes are now on and work good,now I need to get working on the Y block that will be replacing the 351.

Picked up a 7 inch booster from a V8 mustang II at the local pull and pay and will make it fit the truck bracket.

Are you sure that booster came off a Granada,I have looked at 10 in local junkyards and none have that bracket. The ones I have found mount directly to the firewall even with a V8. I had a 70 Torino that had a similar booster setup so it looks like i will not be able to find one so I might have to go with a aftermarket booster.

I don't want to hijack this, but since Sanddoc brought it up.

I've had a hydroboost on my 'bird for years. Small, works great, clears the hood mechanism and the valve cover. Probably a unit off an Olds diesel, or a small diesel pick up. But even with the pressure dialed back to stop the rack from being twitchy, it's still very light.

I just remove the electric unit from my roadster. Two very experienced builders told me sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Neither one could tell why. In my case when I stepped on the brake, nothing happened. A little more pressure, boost, and I was locking them up. Just no way to modulate brake pressure.

If it had p/s I would go with a hydro boost but will be looking for a Granada booster saturday.

So many options today, Hydro boost, vacuum, electric
   I would  go to your nearest wreaking yard and find a 7" booster with master cylinder...
Ford is using a lot of Bosh booster\MC now...
 If you have power steering, hydro boost might be the way to go, can mount the unit remotely.
There are electric power brake units now, Ford has some, might be too much fabrication though.
On my 56 Packard I'm going with the hydro boost,

My F150 booster has a similar bracket to mount it to the firewall so did it come on the Granada booster,now I wish I would have went to the old junkyard today since it has a few Granadas and the only junkyard open on sunday is the pull and pay and they have none.

Since I used Granada discs and rear brakes I decided to use a Granada Power Booster also...


The bracket is a bolt on


And raises the booster  to clear  the valve cover.

I put my 77 F150 booster on a 56 that has a 302 and will fit but not with my 351 or larger motor,since I plan on going back to a Y block I will have to find one that is smaller. The F150 booster has a bracket to move the booster a little higher away from the motor but the booster is just too huge so I am going to look for a smaller booster that I can put on that bracket,if I can find a small booster with a adjustable rod I can make it work and if not I will have to buy a kit. I am trying to do this as cheap as possible and with OEM parts.
