I have a 1962 F-250 that needs freeze plugs (31 K original miles.) I can see 3 per side.. Any in the back, under the bell-housing?

In the block, there should only be two freeze plugs per side, not three.  There are no freeze plugs at the front or rear of the block.  Total of four 1¾” freeze plugs in the 239-312 Y blocks.

Ted:

Thanks for the "freeze plug" answer... it sure looks like there are three per side.
How difficult to get these out?

I have enough room under the truck to pry them out if I use "jack stands."

I have not done freeze plugs before.

Thanks
