The ’57 and newer models with Y-Blocks used the 3/8” belt.  ’56 and earlier models used the ½” belt.  The belt size at the damper will dictate which belt width should be used as dampers did get changed out with engine swaps without much regard to the year model to which they belonged.

THanks again for everyones input.  Is the lower mounting arm (the one with the adjustment slot) supposed to have a bend in it for an offset?  THe mounting brackets I bought off ebayhas a flat adjusting bracket, and it doesnt line up, so Im guessing that its supposed to have an offset?

Would a set like this fit?  It lists it as fitting 58-64 Ford cars and pickups.

Also, it looks like the guy I talked to at Powermaster may have been wrong about which alternator for the application.  He said the passenger car should use the t-bird alternator, but as someone else here mentioned the output stud is clocked differently.  As a result, on the passenger car it ends up at about the 6 oclock position...

This is turning into a much bigger PITA than I thought it would...

Yes, I thought about bending it, but its pretty thick and would be tough to do.  I also thought about using spacers or something, but at the end of the day, the car is restored to a pretty high level, so Id rather use the "right" parts where possible.  Also, I kind of like knowing its put back together the way Ford intended wherever possible.

Ill look for your email; it would be great if we could connect/figure it out today, as Im hoping to get whatever brackets I need bought today so Ill have them next weekend to get this wrapped up.

There are several generator bracket assy.(four) on ebay under ford y block engine.  Might be worth a look.
