Is there an accepted way of removing and reinstalling 1955 Ford Fordor Sedan door glass and regulators? I have a shop manual for this model and it is not very detailed for this procedure. I got the glass and regulator out of the right rear door, but I don't think I did it properly. I just kept at it until the regulator was separated from the guides at the bottom of the glass by way of taking the rollers apart. That was a difficult job, which is why I think there must be a better way. Also, reinstalling the new glass and rollers could not be done this way and everything work properly. Does anyone know a step by step procedure for removing these components and then installing the new glass, rollers and regulators correctly? I would sure appreciate it if someone could help me with this. Thanks for your help and I sure do appreciate this forum!

I did the glass, rollers, and channel liners on my 55 bird last year. I think the hardware is about the same. Removing the clips on the rollers is difficult inside the door. But the rollers can be installed in the guides before they go back in the door. The "pegs" in the bottom window channel will then push thru. They've got a taper on them, so you just line up the pegs and push them into the rollers. You can play around with them while they're out of the car and see if that works on your model. Took a lot of fiddling to line everything back up so it was all right going up and down. But a whole bunch of rattles went away, making it well, worth the effort.
