I have asked this a few years ago and recently found an older thread. I am ready to do the job now. I would like some newer info if possible.

Has anyone installed aftermarket air in a 55-56 Mercury? I am interested in what brand and model and how you controlled it. Classic auto air has a kit for the Ford, but the Mercury controls are significantly different.

Thanks

I'm interested in this, too. Classic says they will make up controls for Mercs. You have to send your control assembly to them. The rest of the Ford kit will fit according to them.

Who is the rep you are talking to? The guy I have talked to is useless, he just says i will have to make it work or switch over to an electronic universl for undrdash controls. The electric unit is the same box but he says he cannot sub this unit into the kit, i have to order it all separate. Seems like they could swap thm and give me a price.

Vintage has a gen IV but I do not know if it will fit. They seem to have a lot more options than Classic

Sorry, I don't recall the guy's name. It's been about 3 years since I talked to them and I wasn't ready to do it at the time.
