I've had two sets of re-chrome bumpers for my 56 over the years. I would tell you to find a reputable shop and pay the price. Both of my sets were "deals" and although they looked pretty they didn't last. Check the car sites and look for recommendations.

Y's guys rule!
Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

It depends a lot on where you live. Hemmings Motor News also has a services section where chrome platers list their services. Also be aware that "show" chrome is different than "bumper" chrome in the amount of prep-work done and whether or not they use a triple (copper, nickel, chrome) plating process.
