Ok guys, I've run the #s,(as best a mathematical moron can), n I've come up with 304 c.i.'s for my stock 312 with stock 312 crank and stock 312 rods that has been sleeved down to a stock 292. Is my math correct?
Thanks, Rowen

Your math is better than mine, Rowen.  3.75 bore (stock 292) x 3.44 stroke (stock 312) ...
I had to look at John Mummert's chart.

Just curious, all cylinders were sleeved down?  That's different & sounds expensive..

Paul, It was expensive. I purchased this engine from a young man whose life got in the way of finishing his project, a 56 F-100. It is the machinist story, I picked the engine up from him, and have all the paper work, that it was done because the 312 block sometimes developed cracks between the water jackets and cylinder walls under abuse. The sleeves were installed as a way of preventing that AND he said that the 292 pistons are easier,(more readily available) and cheaper to replace than 312 pistons. True or not, I don't know. It has a clay smith 292s cam forged domed pistons and he was planing on running Mummert aluminum heads. Wether that happens with my budget remains to be seen. At any rate the engine was built to take some abuse and I believe that the sleeves were part of that. I kinda like the sound of "304" anyway. Nice chrome #s tastefully done under the fender V8 emblem on my 55CV I think would look pretty kool. :o)
