I ran across these drain valves at a local boat store.  Also on ebay.   IMHO, these are pretty neat, all you need is a socket or box end wrench to open the valve.  Nothing to rust and no  butterfly to break or rust.  I put a couple of these on my 56 Bird.  I haven't had these on long, but should last a long time.

Haso anyone had trouble getting the old drains out? I was going to put shiny new ones on my engine but can't get them out. Put a wrench on them and immediately started to round.

Vise Grips will typically work on the really stubborn ones.  Worst case scenario is having to drill them out and cleaning up the hole with a ¼” NPT tap.
