I like to use a strand of copper wire. It's softer and less likely to damage the carb.

If you have any of those paper twist ties used on bread and other grocery things to close the bag just scrap off the paper. Inside is a fairly soft small diameter wire that is good to clear small holes. Since it is relatively soft it wont damage the hole - Bob

IF you go to a welding supply, look for the self contained container of tip cleaner files used for an onyacetylene torch.  Too, a farm supply store like Tractor Supply will have them, too.  Sears used to carry them if you can find a store in your area. 

In using these 'files', be sure to go straight in and out of the hole...

I thought those were the ones you were talking about cool. Um those wholes are like incredibly small, any suggestions on what tools would work on those? Maybe a needle tip?

The Teapot carburetor pictured is the 1955 variety.  I’ve attached your picture highlighting the two ‘anti-siphon’ holes that prevents the secondary fuel channels from draining fuel into the secondary bores when those blades are in a closed position.  The ‘anti-siphon holes are in a slightly different location on the 1956/1957 teapots.  Be sure to check that the check balls are still in place in the lower body of the carburetor.

There are two vent holes in the top of the carb. Make they are not plugged. Pretty small. Use a small wire to clear them.

So I think I found the problem as to why my Yblock is running so badly when it gets warm, I noticed it today. I can't be sure if it's doing this the entire time but I'd assume so.

It seems that one of the secondaries, the left from the front, is constantly flowing fuel down into the engine bogging it down, it's just a constant flow out and down the throat, the other one isn't doing it though.

I'm wondering what could be causing this, it couldn't be something at the root of the system or else it would effect both secondary throats right? Maybe there's a chance I forgot to put the check-ball inside that secondary tube port? Would that even cause that?


Just curious if anyone else has ever had this problem, any suggestions?
