Took the 56 Gasser to the biggest car cruse in are area. Over 3000 cars, you cruse up about a mile and back through the town of Beaver Pa. Everything was going great, made two passes and parked the Gasser. A lot of people looking at the car and commenting on the Y-block power. Man I though I was COOL ! I went to leave about 9 p.m. and was making one more cruising pass. People were giving me thumbs up, man was I cool, then it happen. I ran out of gas in the center of town. With some help I pushed it off to the side, walked to a gas station, got a gallon of fuel, walked back, fired it up, and drove away. Not feeling so cool anymore !

Larry; I'll bet the impression you made with the gasser outweighed the fact you ran her out of gas! So I'd say it was worth it. Rono

IF that's the 'dumbest' thing you ever do, Larry, you're light years ahead of me! Regards,

Look at it this way, Larry. People that never do anything don't have anything to write about. Case in point. IF you hadn't been in the show, you wouldn't have run out of gas! Always look on the bright side, too. You weren't in the middle of nowhere when you ran out! Events like this make things memorable, too. -And that's a GooD thing... Keep doing what you're doing. You'll be fine! Regards,

Turned the gasser into a no-gasser right there on the street! Today you're embarrassed. In a couple years it'll be one of your favorite stories.

Larry. No need to feel bad about running out of fuel. I’ve not only run out of fuel going down the race track, I’ve done it more than once. On the flip side of that, I haven’t managed to run out of fuel on an elimination run yet though so I feel I’m not doing too bad in that department. As long as the race car runs out of fuel far enough down the track to at least coast off to the return road, it’s not too embarrassing.

I prefer to look at it as a learning experience. I was not going to pipe in but my first time out with the race bird this year I put in 3 gallons of fuel, drove 100 yards to get teched, made a run, ran out of gas at the #1 spot in the staging line for my second run. Good news was there were plenty of guys to push me out of their way. I now know it takes a lot of fuel to fill an empty fuel system, I never gave that a thought before.

With friends like you guys, who needs gas. Next time I run out I'll give you a call, how long will it take you to get to Pa. to help push ?
