When I first started running Y Blocks back in 1963 getting 400 horsepower out of a street Y Block seemed impossible. Hope mine does that well. With similar parts it should be in that ballpark. Nice ballpark to be in.

I have had the 57 for over 40 years but this is the first Y-Block. It has had a variety of FE 'engines from 352 to the last which was a 482 cubic inch aluminum FE. Just time to get back to a more traditional setup.

Great numbers. That essentially doubles the factory rated horsepower numbers for the 292 equipped Rancheros which is going to bring a big smile when you step down on the throttle.

What pistons did you use? I have about the same setup for my next build, except for the bore/stroke. I bought the 338" kit from Mummert and it came with the dome pistons. It would be fine for the iron head engine but I'm not sure it would be good for the aluminum head engine.

Re the Camshaft. Is that the Y-280-1-111 cam? If so, (?) your engine is the 2nd or 3rd results published by Mummert with that cam. All very impressive, both in H.P & torque figures & the bonus is they are achieved at very moderate RPM's.
