We recently picked-up a 1957 Ford 9" rear out of a wagon to transplant into our 56 Ranch Wagon. The rear is complete except for the vented bolt that secures the brake line T fitting to the housing. Can't find one of those anywhere. The rear brake rebuild kit for this rear includes everything except that bolt. If anyone has one, please send me a PM or e-mail. I don't know if I can use a standard bolt to secure the brake line T fitting, but then I would have to drill and tap a new hole in the housing to add a vent. Any ideas would be appreciated.

If it is the same as '68 on F series, it should be easy to find in a salvage yard.  I think '61 on is the same but not sure.  Mine's had a '68 axle in it since I've owned it.  I know the T mounts in the same fashion but '61 uses a separate fitting whereas the later fitting and hose is a unit that cannot be separated.

When I cleaned my vent, I found that it was only a small hole, probably less than 1/16".  No idea if that is correct or if any filter material has rotted out since new, though.
