Does anyone have a picture or two of what a '56 F-100 dash should look like? It looks like the previous owner did a hack job on the dash to the non-standard gauge cluster. I need to repair it back to original since I will installing the standard gauge package for a F-100.

You probably already have a plan Bob, but you might get a dash gauge panel first and then you'll know exactly what shape to make your patch panel. There are some verycool options for aftermarket dash panels from some of the great vendors like Mid Fifty F100:
http://midfifty.com/store.php?&srch=dash%20panels&page=1
Some gauge panels drop slightly lower than stock to make room for additional important guages like oil pressure, water temp, and tach. Once you dump a lot of dough and labor into a decent mill it's nice to not rely on old idiot lights to monitior your vital signs.
Good luck. I'll be interested to see your transformation.

Thanks Dennis & Bill.  Dennis' primer picture is exactly what I need.  Could you post the distance from the bottom of the dash to the flat part of the gauge cutout?  I want to check the replacement sheet metal and see if it long enough.  I already have the replacement sheet metal for the flat part of the dash and it looks like I only need to replace the missing ears in the brow part of the dash.  I am going to install the electronic retro gauges (page 42 of the Mid Fifty catalog) and I really didn't want to spend the $900 bucks right now to just to figure out the sheet metal.  As you can see mine is getting ready to go to the media blasters.

Nice panel Bill and the wrecker is cool as well.

Bob, the 1st picture I hooked the tape under the dash on the flat part.

2nd picture, I hooked the tape on the top and pulled it down.

3rd picture, I hooked the tape in the joint at the left side.
