Nice video, I was wondering about the 55 dash in the 56. Is the radio the same as the US 55 being 6 volt or is there a 12 volt radio that looks like the 55 US version down there? My first car was a 55 2 door custom. Vic, got one of your mates is staying with me, Tom Drummond ! good fun! 55 radios 6v, after that yr all 12v . if you are asking if the round face radios come in 12 v , yes. regards bill.

My first car was a 55 2 door custom. Our 56 and 57 used the 55 rhd dash, the radios were 12 volts. They come up on ebay fairly often. Aussie Bill may know where to find one. My first car was a 58 Star model, Customline body with Meteor grille and side chrome as in the video. Cost $180, 10 weeks wages in 1972. Lots of rust under the shiny blue paint... .

I love my Customline and I will never sell it. Here it is (the yellow one) last weekend on a get together with a few other like minded souls. Over to the left you can see Aussie Bill's pink Skyliner too The guys in the photo are not Bill or myself though.
