We have had a new permanent magnet reduction gear starter made and are testing it on Todd Ferguson's Drag Falcon.
Looking to make more soon! Looks like price will be 249.00

Stuey, we are using the starter with a C4 kit in Todd's Falcon. I need to stay after the vendor to get these made.

Nice looking starter and I bet it gets the job done. How does it sound?
I just personally like the sound the old Ford starters make.

Mummert's new unit looks very substantial & somewhat different in design than other min starters I've seen or heard about. Saw a mini just the other day at a swap meet, advertised as being for a Y-Block. I passed on it, mostly because I have reservations about any unit that simply engages from the front, as original starters engage from the rear. In one case written about some time ago, the mini starter pushed the ring gear off the fly wheel!  But, I'd be interested to hear more details on the Mummert design unit..
