Thanks all for the replies. I was curious, but I think that I will probably stick with my four barrel. It is ironic that the Offy manifold was mentioned, as I have a new one that I bought sometime in the mid 60's that I had always hoped to put on something. It is a decoration on my garage shelves, but someday I might just play with it for the looks at car shows.

i've been lead to believe the ones to get are the Edelbrock 573 (3x2) and FM257 (dual-quad) and F548 (single quad) for optimal performance. i would also think the factory dual-quads may be good performers along with factory aluminum single four's.

Jan; there was a writeup on Y intakes in YBM a couple of years ago, or so. I think the Fenton was considered o.k. However, the one to avoid, is oddly the one with the most storied name, Offenhauser. It's internal design is terrrible apparently. Unfortuntely, it was the one used in the Popular Hot rodding series on the Y-block in the 70s, with somewhat disappointing results..

everything I've read says edelbrock are the best, but I think for a street engine probably wouldn't be able to tell much difference. I think the three deuces just look cool.

I've been on that site many times, but without any ID numbers listed in the ad , I can't really tell what it is. I have sent the seller an inquiry about any numbers found on the manifold,

There is a Fenton intake on E-Bay that I was curious about. Anyone know anything about the Fenton intakes?
