Why does it take what seem like forever to load a picture?

Paul. I’m envious that you can even upload pictures to the site. I simply get the ‘Instance of the Editor’ pop up window and have to instead load pictures to Photobucket or other picture hosting site to be able to post pictures on the YBF site. Before the last site software upgrade, picture loading time was dependent upon the original picture size. If the pictures were resized ‘smaller’ before attempting to upload to the site, they would load much faster.

I clicked on the add photo icon, clicked on browse in the pop up menu, right clicked on the photo, then clicked on copy. Then closed all the pop up windows and returned to the reply window and clicked control v. And presto.

One other note that may help. Once you get a picture loaded you can click on the picture to get "handles" on the corners to resize the picture either bigger or smaller.

Actually, it was to view a picture that some one had posted but it seems that has been taken care of as it seems the pics come up very good.

Jimz Bird (8/13/2014) Just an idea. The mouse does not work for me when trying to load pictures on the site either. Here is how I do it. I just copied the below graphic to my desktop and then right clicked on it on the desktop and did a copy.I then came back to this screen and did <Ctrl V> which is the keyboard shortcut for paste. No guarantees but it may be worth at least trying and may work for some.
Also, to get the text darker I highlight the text and go to the A (Font Color), grab the cross and move it to the lower right. I then scroll down to the Preview and see if the text is darker. If so, I post.If you add text after a picture you may need to highlight it again and go back to the A, move the cross and position it back at the lower right. Text numbers in the box should read 000000.
Jim. Unfortunately what works for a few of the others doesn’t work for me. I’ve tried a variety of methods to upload and store pictures directly to the YBF site but so far none do the job with my current computer and/or operating system. Pictures already posted on the YBF site do not seem to be a problem, just the pictures that are offsite that I would like to upload. For new pictures, I still have to upload the pictures to a different hosting site and then simply link them to this site. While that works, it’s cumbersome and time consuming enough that I’ll simply not post pictures here very often.
