Does anyone else think that might be a supercharged Y-block in this coupe? found this over on the HAMB, pictures were taken by Richard "Mac" McKinstry in the 60's at the Indy nationals.

I don't think that picture was taken at the Indy Nationals/Raceway Park. I don't recall seeing any trees close to the track.
