My '55 Fairlane came with '56 lenses. I ordered the correct '55 lenses assuming (I know, don't assume) that the '55 lenses would screw right on - not imagining that they were different diameter and that someone would have actually changed out the entire housing.
So are the '55 and '56 tail light housings a bolt-in interchangeable fit? Or did they (previous owner) do some more finagling in order to fit the 56 housing on the '55?
I'm still leaning towards finding the correct '55 housings and replacing the '56's if they're just a remove/replace exchange. But if there's much to it than that I'm just inclined to just keep the incorrect '56 housings and lenses...
