I am working on the restoration and installation of the clutch and brake pedals in the 55 Club Sedan to install the 3 speed with overdrive. For all of you that have put on the new rubber covers over your metal pedal, how do you install the pad so it has a tight fit? Do I need glue or some type of bonding agent? The rubber from Dennis Carpenter looks like it will not slip over the pedal unless I heat it up quite a bit. Any ideas?

I did mine about a year and a half ago and as far as I can remember I just forced it over the metal part.  Did not use any glue.  Mine came from Jamco Suspension. My problem was I couldn't decide which way to orient the pattern on the pad.In retrospect Daniel, I may have heated it up in boiling water and used some sort of lubricant like soap.

I used methylated spirits, lubricates it enough to put on, then evaporates.
