I just picked up a vs75 supercharger, printed out the 25 page installation and service manual and did a little bit of research here's what I don't understand (so far) and would need a little help with. The info: I have a 56 f100 with a 292, 4bbl intake/ blow through carb, stock fuel pump, factory dizzy/ ignition, headers, ported head, upgraded springs. The questions: 1) can I switch to electronic ignition? 2) what am I hooking this wire from under the logo that apparently runs to some sort of clutch(im at work writing this fast so I can read at home and work on it) 3) since it's difficult to find an f bird fuel pump what can I use in its place? What pressure do I need? 4)anytging quirky I have to look forward to? 5)advice? 6)im custom making a drivers side bracket, any idea where I could find one(since Ive been looking I haven't been able to locate any) 7) is it possible to run my alt, and ac along with thos blower? I'm starting to get nervous about the possibility of taking my ac and trashing it. 8) anything im forgetting?
I'll ad pictures when I'm home the mobile version of this forum is strange.
Thanks in advance! Joey.

Yes you can convert to electronic ignition, (you will need a 1957 or newer dist) You will have to convert the fuel pump to boost reference (add boost pressure to the back side of the diaphragm, standard fuel pump is good)) The wire under the emblem goes to a manifold pressure switch (puts the supercharger in high range at low vacuum signal) You will have to convert the carb. to blow through (not hard however each carb will need its own conversion) Yes you can run all accessories you can fit. Important make sure the lower pulley is at least 7" and less then 8" If you make the bracket make sure that you have a spring loaded idler arm (keeps the belt tight when the supercharger shifts into high range)

Hi, I use mostly double pumpers, I remove the choke (butter fly) and seal up the hole where the rod was, that's all I do, I find a model 4776 to work the best on a 300 CID motor, other than that I have used a 3310 (choke removed) with no other mods ( yes the secondaries opened), the 3310 worked better on the street. The standard vacuum advance works fine, when the boost comes up the advance retards the timing, when cruising and the vacuum is high it advances the timing for good gas mileage, mine runs best with a total advance (including vacuum) of 50 Deg. I thought this was to much so I limited the vacuum advance for a total of 45 Deg and it ran worse down the freeway, so my car likes 14 int.20 in the dist, and the rest in the vacuum chamber.

I think Chuck had a problem at Columbus where his floats collapsed from the pressure, think he had to change floats to Nitrophyl or something like that! I'll let others take it from here!

I ran an SN single speed charger for several years, with the extended pulley to use the long nose (VS) brackets. I can forward pictures of an original mounting bracket, as well as the custom one I built. These aren't for sale, but I'll do what I can to help.
That car also ran an Edelbrock AFB style carb, which the Stude guys said would go to 12lbs with just the marine accelerator pump installed. It work well, as well as the much more expensive modified Holley on my F code motor.
Send me a PM if you're interested.

Changing the floats is absolutely necessary. The brass ones will eventually collapse. Bill is correct I learned by experience. Chuck
Y's guys rule! Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.
