We went up to Bakersfield "Famoso" this weekend for the Heritage series finals. Weather was nice, corrected altitude was hovering around 2000ft. We had the same top end issue as we did at the last 1/4 mile in Pomona. Somewhere out around 800ft ( or not far after you drop it into high gear) it starts picking up a stumble. We have a few ideas for that, but we thought that last time.
Besides the point we a got a couple of clean passes that set personal bests for the Y powered coupe. 6.27 1/8th @ 107mph and 9.995 1/4 @ 129mph.
The first 9 sec pass was sweet and the ultimate goal for the 343ci.
Unfortunately we don't have a 1/4 mile to close and only get a couple of chances a year. However at Vegas with a corrected altitude of 4600ft. the car did not stumble and was within .006 sec from 1000ft to 1320 on all passes made that weekend. The 2 attempts at the 1/4 where the altitude has been 2000ft DA the stumble has shown up.
John Hildebrand is going to write an article for YBM with details on a few of our last outings.
