I am thinking I might want to use a 55 merc automatic trans in my 55 sunliner when and if I put it back close to original to get the u joint out past the X member,right now with the C-4 I have to remove the driveshaft to grease the front U joint. Its been so long since a FOM has been in it I can not remember if the U joint stuck out past the X,if the merc trans is a little longer I might try to find a 55 merc parts car and with it I can get a 55 292 if its all original. If I am going to wear out the 351 before going back to a Y block I better get these parts now as I can imagine how much harder they will be to find when I can retire in 15 years if that will even be possible.
