Now I know that I have seen an article about straighting these adaptor plates somewhere on the interweb.

Its seems to be a pretty simple "get it flat" item but yet I have had one on and off 4 times now.

Even though I am going to purchase a new one,can somebody point me to this article?

Thanks,Oldmics

This is what your looking for, I had the same trouble then I found this post. I used a 4" pvc coupling and a big socket, worked great. You need at least the 1/16" Mark

I specifically had a conversation with my T-Bird on the way over to Oldmics. I told her to play nice with Uncle John, or she would wear out her welcome. As with most of the women in my life, she DIDN'T listen. Spraying oil all over his garage floor, repeatedly, is not playing nice!

Mac's has a heavier plate than what most kits have. They also have a thicker gasket which will help.

The biggest challenge with these plates is that the gasket was originally paper and the manuals said to "Lube" them on install where the newer are a composit and or neopreme type and if you lube them they will leak. Put the new type gaskets in dry.

Gary, Is this the same guy that had them on ebay? I was saving my lunch money to get one but then could not find him again on ebay.

I also purchased one of these machined adapters.Very nice workmanship.I still have an oil leak but its not the filter adapter.I am having a problem using the "quote" response on the forum. Is it just me or is there a problem right now?
