These are the old headers I bought from you. Since they were ceramic coated I decided to powder coat them with Eastwoods one step chrome. Since they were pretty pitted I coated them extra thick. My daughter thinks it gave them a "hammered" look. I'm not sure how they will do under heat but they were taken up to 420deg to set the powder. I'll put them on in the spring and see how they do. Are they Hedmans? Sure look a lot like the set I have been running on my Bird since the late '60's. Mine came off a passenger car and I had to modify the drivers side to clear the steering column on the Bird. Stock exhaust piped bolt up to them.

They don't have the ID plate but I'm pretty sure they are Hedmans. Chuck

Chuck I have a set of headers just like yours,i sent them to Ted a couple years ago when he was testing exhaust manifolds and headers.He seemed to think they were either Reds or Hedmans,I have had them probably 15 years and they were used when i got them Carl

I just bought these from Frank. I know they don't dyno any better that the good stock one but they make good eye candy. Chuck

Chuck.  Unless that’s high heat powder coating, it may prove to be a problem when the exhaust temperature heat is put to it.  And if you have any on the inside of the headers, then any scavenging taking place during the overlap cycle can be pulling this into the cylinders.  I’ve seen what the standard powder coating does to cylinder walls and it’s not pretty; the heat cooked powder coat as it comes loose creates a lot of damage to both the cylinder walls and the pistons.  If this is a metalized powder coating, then the temperature capability is likely higher but check out what you currently have before putting these on a good engine and testing.

The original coating is a high temp ceramic, and the hedders were sold to me as hedmans. They do look like early Hedmans but the tag was missing when i bought them 8/9 years ago.
