Hello,

I'm trying to fix my See Clear washer system on my '55 Victoria. On an exploded Ford diagram it shows the hoses running from the foot plunger to the vacuum wiper motor.

Does anybody know if this required engine vacuum to work?

My car has been converted to electric wipers, but I'd still like to use the original See Clear set-up.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris:

From what I remember, the inter connection to the wiper motor was so that when you stepped on the washer pedal, the wipers would start.  Sorta like the modern washer/wiper systems.  I'm sure you could find the inlet and outlet for the washer pump, connect them to the washer bag and the nozzles, forget the wiper motor connection, and just pump the pedal and manually start your wipers.

Just run a hose from the foot valve to the valve on top of the bag and the other outlet from the valve on the bag  runs to the jet on the hood.If the valve in the cover of the bag is missing you need to get one.

Thanks, both of you, for the information. That all makes much more sense now!

Chris.
