WTB a 312 rebuilt or not for my 40 ford project. also want a truck rear sump pan front cover and ram exaust manifolds. prefer eastern US. cash for right stuff and i have a 73 IH 4x4 pickup to trade as well as 2 fe engines. may also look at some 292s

NR71: First if buying a 312 engine, be sure that is what you are getting. It's difficult to tell externally if that is what it is. Block casting #s interchange between 292s & 312s. Usually you can tell if the rear crank flange is visible. Normally they have a shallow 5/16" dia dot on the flange edge.. but not always. (& not a smaller dia one) Otherwise the pan has to come off to see the ECZ stamping on the con rod caps & crank. Keep in mind that, unfortunately often 312 blocks have cracked main webs due to overtightened main cap bolts, ( it's a long story) A deep crack may render the block useless, unless you can afford & find someone competant to cast weld it successfully?.. Rams Horns, if not available, in good shape, should be available new from John Mummert's site, one of the Links from this site.. Hope this helps, good luck..

niterunner71 I should have what your looking for. Several 312`s some 292`s . I have a truck oil pan & pickup tube & screen very well cleaned & straight & ready to install , and no not all 312 cranks have the dot on flange. I have one here without dot. I will gaurentee every thing I have here is what I say is. Where are you located? For more info call Harry 513-868-3311
