I'd like to run the Gabriel G63398 shocks on the rear of my 55 Vicky, only problem is is that I can't find any. Napa has the same shock, just has a little longer stroke, has anyone run this shock?? It's for the same vehicle as the G63398 fits, Its # is RR94151. Thanx, Gary

I discovered on my '56 Victoria that I had to remove the lower rear shock mount to allow the axle to drop far enough to remove the wheel. I did some research and was told that the original shocks were long enough to allow wheel removal but after time and drop in demand, the manufacturer made replacement shocks that had the appropriate amount of travel for driving but not the length for allowing the axle to drop all the way down. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't think the extra length will hurt. Jeff

My car is lowered so I followed a recommendation on this site and put on some truck shocks. They ride great but are a longer stroke so I can get the tires off. Chuck
Y's guys rule! Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

I put the Gabriel(G63398) truck shocks on mine. Its lowered about 2 inchs to match the front Granada spindles. No problem with length and yes the wheels come off easily. The original ones that were on when I bought the car would not.I gave the new ones a light sanding and sprayed them with Rustoleum gloss black so they look original.

Glad to help Gary! I am wondering if these shocks are being discontinued.Too bad because they are great for our application.

If anyone is interested in seeing the car where the shock application info came from do an internet search for- Chuck Gardiner 1956 Ford.Lovely 56 Club Sedan which he has since sold.He was the person who researched what shocks would work on 55-56 Fords. The suggested front shocks are Gabriel 82026.
