Here a couple of progress photos on the triple deuces for the 57 Bird. I finished the carb rebuilds, figured out the progressive linkage for now, and finished tweeking and installing the fuel lines I got from Vintage Speed to clear the choke cap. Next will be setting it on the the motor and working out the plumbing for the fuel regulator and gauge, PCV manifold fitting and hose, locating the metal vacuum lines to and from the fuel pump, and distributor vacuum advance. Then dealing with the throttle linkage and progressive again. All this while waiting for some quality 225/60 R15 tires to come off back order. American Torque Thrust D's are sitting the garage still in the boxes.

Looks great! I'm doing something similar. Where did you get your progressive linkage? I like the way you plumbed the gas lines. Very nice.

Thanks for the good word. My main worry is fuel leaks. Won't know for sure until I run it. I have collected a bunch of 94's and related stuff. The end carbs came from BigRedTodd along with a 553 intake. I think the linkage came from him or with the 573 I bought online from a guy in Florida or another in New Jersey. Got some carbs from Charlie Burns also if I remember correctly. Regarding the linkage, it is a common set up like Speedway sells or Vintage Speed. I was at the GoodGuys Street Rod Nationals in Pleasanton, Ca. on Saturday. Humongous turnout, thousands of cars and really large swap meet. I stopped at the H&H Flatheads display and talked with the owner, Mike Herman. He had several running engines on operating stands one of which was a Y Block with three deuces. He uses Stromberg stuff and had some really cool linkages using Heim Joints, etc. The Yblock had beautifully polished but less functional Offy intake. He knew about Mummert's aluminum head project but didn't realize they were on sale now. Anyway, the new issue of Rod & Custom was in the mailbox. There is an interview with Mike Herman which includes H&H apparent intention to expand into Y Blocks, Lincoln V12's, Nailhead, Caddy and early Hemi performance. Also some interesting history of his relationship with Barney Navarro. I also met up with Greg Gordon (569104 here on the forum) and his wife who came down from NorCal with his beautiful 56 Big Window Ford pickup. In a literal ocean of scrub powered debris he was a Y Block sanctuary luckily in the shade of some trees. Yakked non-stop Y block and Ford stuff in the 95 degree heat.
