I need the heater delete plate which mounts on the firewall where the heater core would be located. I think that '52-56 Ford car are the same. Thanks

Alan;

I could be wrong, but I think that most if not all passenger cars came with heaters so I don't think there were any "factory" delete plates made. It's easy enough to make a delete plate which is what I did when I removed my stock heater core when I installed an in-dash Vintage Air heat and AC unit. I used some aluminum plate.

alan,
know what you are looking for, but haven't seen one in decades. some of the base model passenger cars came with a unit that sat underneath of the dash entirely, and the heater core was not in the firewall, but the tubes went through it, then there was a plate that attached to where the heater would normally go. I will keep my eyes and ears open.

Daniel-you said base models possibly had heater delete cover for firewall.I have a bill of sale for a 56 Fairlane and the heater was an option(this car had one).Fairlane is top model.I assume if you did not pay for the heater option the firewall would have a block-off cover installed?

Yes, cars which had no heater (heater delete) had the block off plate on the firewall and another on the dash where the heater control would otherwise mount. I have the dash piece but need the one for the firewall. Thanks, Alan

Heaters were optional in all 56 Fords.There was no such thing as a heater delete option.If the person ordering the car didn't order a heater,the car had none.There were two heaters available,the deluxe fresh air heater and the cheaper,recirculating under the dash unit.Actually,there were 3 options,including an air conditioning setup.
