Turned on the telly when I got home from work Friday night in the middle of an old B/W movie. A guy is working on a boat engine that appears to be an Interceptor. Sure enough it is a Y-Block. When he gets it running and gets back to shore he is driving a 57 Ford Sunliner. Even the bad guys in the movie drive 57 Fords. The ambulance is a 51 or 52 F-1 panel. Turns out to be a Mike Hammer movie, "My Gun is Fast". Not a great movie but the all Y-Blocks made up for the plot.

John, is this the movie? http://cgi.ebay.com/My-Gun-Quick-1957-Robert-Bray-Whitney-Blake-DVD-/300554881589?pt=US_DVD_HD_DVD_Blu_ray&hash=item45fa778a35If so maybe I could buy it and watch it, and send it to someone else for the postage, then they can pass it on too, etc, making a chain movie.

My, that is it. I almost had the title correct. I hate the sound in Thunder Road. In one scene Mitchum takes of in a 57 Ford and it sounds like a 6 cylinder with no muffler

Turns out to be a Mike Hammer movie
As a side note, when novelist/philosopher Ayn Rand was asked who was her favorite author, she named Mickey Spillane (described him as a "romanticist"). I discovered his Mike Hammer novels in the late 50s, and once I started one, could never put it down. Don't remember for sure, but I think Mike always drove a Ford (and carried 45 auto).

I ordered the movie and will post when it is available to be passed on. It is coming by slow media mail.

The "My Gun is Quick" movie is ready to be sent on. Give me your address and I'll forward via First Class mail. Postage is only $1.50 so not worth worrying about.
