Last week I went down to Ivor, Virginia to visit a fellow Y blocker, Lin Stanworth. I captured this shot of him standing beside his Ford street rod (yeh, he chopped it and built it himself!) with the obvious engine of choice. We had a wonderful time talking Y block, conversing about things in Virginia, our churches, old Fords, and old cars in general. Lin may be just a little bit older than me, but I appreciate the time he took to show me around, and the excellent lead he gave me on a nice machine shop about a 30 minute drive from his house. For all of you that were wondering about that '57 Ford nostalgic drag car he has up for sale, I can testify to the fact that it is the real deal (too bad we couldn't take it out, too much rain the day I was down there). I have other photos of his shop, but a lot of it would look like our own - plenty of Y blocks lying around, some on stands, and of course, quite a bit of vintage speed equipment.
Thanks Lin!
