Being a thrifty type, looking for tube headers at a reasonable price , just wasn't coming my way, got a couple of mid 50's fords that in need of better exhaust than a crossover pipe, I had bunch of SBC headers, from my race cars, also I saw these imca modified headers that can be turned upside down. I cut and stretched the mid ports , welded the bolt holes, redrilled, they coming out nice. They clear everything, this can be done to almost any SBC header. It's more work, but worth it. Would make a great how to article for the rest of us, tried to post pictures, but kept getting an error !

I sure would like to see pictures Dave, I have been thinking about the same thing. Speedway has the IMCA headers at a decent price. I bought a set of Y block flanges off Ebay, haven't received them yet, but I was thinking about cutting the pipes and fitting them to the Y flanges. Hope you can get the photo's up.

They were about the same as ebay, I only found out about the Speedway ones after I bought the ones on Ebay. I don't know yet if I will buy the headers or just use the old ones that I have, they are in decent shape, just look like crap. I may never use the flanges, but I am the worlds biggest packrat, just wanted them. If I never get around too using them, the kids can sell them with the rest of my goodies after I'm gone.
