Does anyone here have experience with Haneline? I ordered one last March but have not yet paid. I finally got a call that it is available. I just want to know if it s a Gauge that will last in a daily driver. I'd hate for it to break and have to wait 9 months for a repair.

All I can say is you are a very patient man or you really want that gauge. I would have bought something else if I had to wait that long... Never even heard of that brand.

Isnt the name Henline?  I have heard of them  if thats the name but never used them. There is a speed shop near my home that sells them.

Patient, not really. I just had plenty of other things to do so it didn't become a priority. It is a 5 in 1 gauge which also has turn and high beam indicators, all in a 6" housing. I like that. I have started design work on a panel for Autometer gauges because it's one of the first projects I want to complete this year and I was getting tired of waiting.

I also like the price of the Haneline; about 1/3 what I'm planning with Autometer and much less labor intensive.

 Charlie,    I happen to have a sales flyer I picked up at a Pomona car show dated "1994" that states they've been in business since "1952",it states that they were using Westech instruments and also Faria gauges at that time before putting their name on their own. They've been making engine turned stainless dash facia(like on the early T-Birds) with multiple gauge sets (or do one off customer requests) and offer a complete setup for the '57 Ford side to side.I know this doesn't answer your gauge question but they were doing gauge setups before "Dolphin or others offering similar gauges recently,and if they were crappy quality,we would have heard something by now.They'll probably be at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona at the end of this month--need a catalog or something?  I've been to their booth and looked at their products and looks like quality stuff but with companies sending things overseas you never know! I have a Dennis Carpenter catalog and in a full page inside he explains having to farm some of his products overseas to stay competitive,didn't want to but says he didn't have a choice because it would've been to costly to make it here,the cost to the customer would need to increase substantually or else he would have had to discontinue making the part all together!Maybe that explains why some of his product and others don't fit like they use to! OOPS-Rambling again-dang-sorry! KID

It is good to know they've been around a while. I don't need a catalog. The gauge I'm looking at is compact enough that it will fit in the place of the stock instruments with minimal effort. All of their other offerings look pretty much the same as the offerings of the other gauge manufacturers.

I haven't heard of them, but did click on they website. They have some pretty neat stuff. I used 2 2-in-1 Classic Instruments gauges with the stock speedo in my 64, but

I would like to add a tach in my 63 Uni. I like the 5" 3-in-1 gauges and the 6 inch 4-in-1 with the 6 inch tach. I think I paid about $350 for the two gauges from Classic. I'll have to get a catalog and check their prices.

If that's the Haneline in Morongo Valley, CA, I've been to their shop. They made the stainless steel replacements for the stamped alum dash/door panel parts on my 'bird several years ago. Very nice people working out of a well equipped shop next to their home. I haven't had use for their gauges, but if I was doing a 57 bird, I'd use them in a minute to do something custom.



As an aside, by the time I got there, I wondered why you'd live out there. When I got out of the car, I realized there was a view of the Palm Springs (cochello?) Valley that let you see 40 miles.

I bought a complete set of Haneline Classic white face guages for my 1956  Cuestomline about 3 years ago and I love them! Haneline also makes a stainless engine turned dash insert that looked so good when the guages were installed, that I made up cardboard templates for the rest of the flat part of the dash that goes across to the glove box door and sent them to Haneline. They made matching stainless engine turned panels which came out great.

The only problem I had was with the fuel guage. For some reason, the Haneline fuel guage was not compatable with the factory Ford sending unit. Once I bought their universal sending unit and cut it to the correct length, I had no more problems. Also, the speedo is electronic and I'm using a T-5 transmission, so I had to find the correct driven gear to get an accurate speed. All things considered, I'm really happy with the guages and get lots of compliments on the dash.
