Has anyone seen a bellhousing that is SFI'd and will bolt a C-4 to the Y ?   Barry L

Barry.  I used your question as the basis for a new post.  For mating a C4 to the Y, I’m using the Performance Automatics bellhousing p/n PA26390 for an FE with an adapter.  In this case, both the rear motor plate and the adapter are the same.  This gets me the SFI certification and keeps my particular combination tech legal.  Here’s a link to an older thread giving more detail on the adapter.

And here’s a couple of older pics of the PA bellhousing behind a Y.

Another option is giving Flat-O Products, Inc. a call and inquire as to what it takes to make their Y bellhousing for a C4 automatic kit SFI certified.

Frank, that is the Flat-o-matic adapter that Mummert sells, I've got one that I have not used yet. I plan on using it in the Falcon gasser if I ever have time too get back on it. It's not SFI certified but looks to be a good solid casting.

Hi Frank;  Been using the Flat-o-matic for 4 years, works great.  Word of caution- use the starter drive that is supplied with the kit, has a different tooth count. Also i used the FE starter with that drive--really cranks!! Hope this helps!!

  God Bless    Eddie

PS-  Frank-- I sure like the Quality of your timing cover, thermstat housing and water pump.  had them polished, really came out beautful.  Many Thanks
