I had a set of exhaust manifolds Jet Hot coated. I did this for aesthetics and to help control the temperatures under the hood. The original manifolds used to be between 400-500 degrees. They now measure between 250 and 350 degrees. Have to wait a couple of months for a 90 degree test day Has anyone used this technology?

I have ported exhaust manifolds for various engine families over the years for folks that had them then sent for coating. Works very well and keeps vintage engine compartments looking great. I used the header paint that is rated for 2000* on my exhaust manifolds and they have served me quite well for 3 years. Joe-JDC

 The FPA headers in my bird made 12 dyno pulls before I coated them with Jet Hot. Burned really clean. They look pretty much the same, and they’ve been on the car 15 years now. Like any other coating, the cleaning prep is important. Find out from the guy doing the coating or have him do it.

I had the exhaust manifolds on my 272 powered ’55 Ford ceramic coated in 1990. The right side manifold went about 25 years before it cracked and had to be replaced with another freshly ceramic coated manifold. The left side manifold is still in place after 36 years but the ceramic coating is started to not look so well as there is some light flaking started to occur. Just have to keep in mind that there has been over 225K miles on that car since 1990.
