I'm wanting to setup my heater on my 56 with a 4-71 supercharger. There is minimum space on top of the intake for a normal connection. Is there an alternate location I could use?

Early (30's) Ford V8's used a fitting that was used in a radiator hose.  .  As far as I know, these are still available and may be an option.  Sorry, but I don't know the year/application.

Did a quick search and came up with this"  Dennis Carpenter - Hot Water Heater Hose Fitting, part # 91A-15160-A
Used in 39-56 Ford Trucks, 39-48 cars.

Moon- you have any photos of how much space you're dealing with?  Can you drill and tap for one on the side of the intake, or elsewhere?  Maybe split the upper hose and add a coupler with a T fitting for the heater?

I'm not sure if you can see it here. The boss on the intake is under the supercharged and leaves little room for a connection. I had two thoughts, one was to drill and tap into the side of the thermostat housing but its sort of thin there. The other was to put a T fitting in the bypass hose. If I went off of the radiator hose would it need to be the lower hose? I had a fitting tigged to the side of the thermostat housing on the manifold. Can’t send u a picture right now as I am away. Good luck! MIKE

The lower radiator hose would be suitable for the heater core return but you already stated the usual water pump connection is available.  A "T" in the bypass hose would work or perhaps fabricate a spacer/adapter sandwiched between the thermostat housing and the intake manifold with a small hose connection threaded into the side? In that case, the bypass hose would be very short so modifications there may be needed. Would there be enough room at the right rear cylinder head for a bung with a short/close elbow and hose connection? What about the left rear cylinder head? Is the temp sensor still in that location? famdoc3's suggestion sounds good too. That's an awesome build you created - the best to you and yours....

If the heater supply inlet is after the thermostat, you are going to have slow and reduced heat.

How much room between the intake manifold coolant crossover and the blower snout (possible elbow)? Can you take a close-up photo?
