Looking for a working 1956 Ford 4-way power seat switch or someone who can rebuild one that doesn't work. I know MAC's sells a 1958 Thunderbird power seat switch but I don't know if that will work.

B5AZ 14A701-Bhttps://cgfordparts.com/ufolder/fordpart.php?number=B5AZ-14A701-B Their listing shows 54/55 but the above PN is for a 55/56. Make sure it is listed correctly. Is it on the door trim panel or seat?

It is located on the seat. Part number should be B5A-14545-B.

                B5A-14545-B
I got this part number off of ebay. There are 2 power seat switches for 1956 Ford that are new old stock. One is $275 and the other is $449. The part number is on the image of the box. These prices are a little to rich for my blood. Several parts suppliers have a 1958 Thunderbird power seat switch for $75 but they can't guarantee that it'll work.

I think that is an outdated PN as BASIC PN 14545 is not in the 49/59 PASS CAR MPC FINAL EDITION. If you look below, 14A701 is the updated BPN. C&G shows the switch. Maybe give then a call ans show them the ILL on EvilBay to make ure they are the same - https://cgfordparts.com/ufolder/fordpart.php?number=B5AZ-14A701-B

Ok, this is a shot in the dark. I went on eBay and looked at those high priced NOS switches. They are a square, 5 lead switch, with a raised mounting post, apparently threaded. Then I went and looked (again eBay) at a 1958 switch. It's also a 5 lead switch, but it has pigtails attached. No big deal to splice it.
I know the p/w p/s switches in 55-57, 59-61, and I think 62-64 Thunderbirds are the same switch. Some black, some ivory, some chrome. But they will interchange in the mounting plate physically and electrically. Back in the day I swapped them out in a 59 bird. My 55 has the chrome version in both the window and seat controls. My point is ford reused a lot of parts in those days.

If you can get the wiring diagram for 56 car and 58 car it might give you the answer. Marv mentions the relays, but both the windows and seats in my bird use relays, in the doors or behind the seats. So the relays carry the operating current.

The 58 switches are still pretty pricey, but half the NOS.

Do you have a switch that doesn't work? Have you checked it with a vom, and checked the relays?

The switch you want is a 4-WAY TOGGLE SWITCH that mounts in the LS lower seat trim panel, correct?
