does any body know where I could get a water pump for a 312 tried napa was told its no longer available

Rock Auto. New and reasonably priced. I got One for my 56 last Fall.

  

I believe the Tbird uses the same pump.  Try the Tbird suppliers -  Hill's, CASO, Larry's

When looking for parts for my T-bird I've often had to explain the facts of "Y-block Life" to boys at the counter........... The 292 truck from 1963 is often a good choice for reference.
