Dennis, I wonder where the insulation manufacturers got all that material to grind up to make the insulation.  In my '53 truck I had glued carpet  in place of the cardboard headliner.  Yesterday I re-glued some pockets that had come loose.  I found the same kind of insulation in one of the pockets, between the roof and "headliner".  I also didn't see where the material came from to make insulation.

John, when I upholstered the seat this winter, there was a little evidence of the cotton batting being chewed. But I don’t think they could have fluffed up that little bit to make those piles. Perhaps there was something else nearby that the little buggers used.

Dennis, that is some serious work you are doing there! Looking good.

I have seen the same "insulation" hiding out under a Y block valley pan several years back when I dismantled a 292 block from an early 60's F350. Now why did Ford put all of that insulation in there? Smile Mice and other vermin can make a mess of things. And then when that stuff gets wet, it retains the moisture and things really rot out. Where did you get those door bottoms you welded onto the door?

Dan, the drivers side I bought around 2000 from a vendor at Carlisle. The passenger side and the 2 outer skins came from Mid Fifty in AZ about 2 years ago. They're not an exact perfect fit.
