Guys:I've been searching for a sway bar for the rear of my car but so far I've come up empty.  I'm not into racing, just a stable ride in the mountains where I live.  Anybody got any recommendations?

Larry’s Thunderbird list one. 1 inch for the rear. I wouldn’t add just a rear bar without doing a front one if it’s not already there. Second row down, no picture.https://www.larrystbird.com/product-category/1954-1957-ford-passenger-vehicles/1954-1957-ford-passenger-vehicles-1954-1957-ford-passenger-vehicles-suspension/page/4/ Addco doesn’t list one, but I’d be tempted to call and ask them. I’ll bet they still have the drawings. I bought my first sway bar from them in 1967 or so for a 55 bird.http://www.addco.net/aftermarket/

If you're a member of the 1952 - 1959 Ford social group over on the HAMB there's a guy on there who makes sway bars. Unfortunately I can't recall his name but if you ask I'm sure somebody over there will know.

As miker mentioned, presumably your car has a front bar? If not, don't install a rear one & don't install a very heavy one at the rear. Too much bar at the rear can cause a "tail happy" rear handling situation, sometimes called oversteer..

.Addco stopped making them for our Applications for some Reason. I was looking for One a couple of Years ago and that was the Answer I got from them.

Thanks guys.  Yes, there is the factory front sway bar on the car and after I replaced the bushings Ithe car felt quite a bit better, but still with too much body roll.  With this many to check with I have high expections of findimg  one.

Dobie, I think it's Dave from Drop 'em and Stop 'em that has the sway bars.
